| What's the Difference between the
Model Types?
We offer the 5600 model in 3/4" Timer, Meter and SE Meter
(Simple Electronics) configurations, the 2510 model in 3/4" Meter and SE
Meter configurations, the 2750 model in 1" Timer and Meter
configurations, and the 9000 model in Meter (3/4" or 1") and 3/4" SE
Meter configurations.
Timer Model (5600/2750)
Timer models regenerate on a preset schedule and are initially less
expensive. These units should be used when water use is predictable.
They may require manual regeneration if there are guests and more water
is being used than normal. If you are going to be gone for an extended
length of time, as on a vacation when little if any water is used, you
would need to disconnect (unplug) your softener so it would not continue
to regenerate unnecessarily during your absence. The Timer model uses a
12-day pin configuration to manually preset the schedule.
Meter 'On Demand' Models
(5600/2510/2750/9000) "On
Demand" control or metered valve softeners regenerate based simply on a
preset amount of water used, instead of regenerating at a preset time.
You don’t have to worry about any of the things as is necessary with the
timer operated softener. Metered softeners will use less salt and waste
less water over time, as they will only regenerate after using a set
amount of water.
SE Meter 'On Demand' Models
(5600/2510/9000) The SE Meter
control valves are identical in functionality and operation as compared
to the Meter model type. The two main differences between the Meter and
SE Meter are:
The SE Meter has an Electronic Keypad
Display for the user interface versus Mechanical dials on the Meter type
The SE Meter has an additional
function that is not available on the Meter version. This function
allows you to set the maximum number of days between regenerations in
case the preset amount of water used is not met in this time period.
